Yes the UCI 2019 World Road Cycling Championships is putting Harrogate and Yorkshire on the world sports stage.
The UK is hosting the World championships for the first time and Harrogate is expecting 1 million visitors over the 9-day cycling event.
As anyone local to Harrogate will tell you, the road closures in place whilst Harrogate prepares to receive the Championships are already causing unprecedented congestion and delays and the event doesn’t start until Saturday 21st September 2019.
Every major route into Harrogate will closed for several hours at some point each day. Getting about for those not interested in the cycling is going to prove difficult at best. We strongly advise anyone from making unnecessary travel plans.
The only road into Harrogate to remain open, is the A61 from Leeds. Leeds Road remains open at all times, but it is closed from the mini roundabout, just below our showroom. This means getting to visit our showroom might prove difficult and we strongly advise customers to call 01423 526737 before setting off.
If our showroom is closed when you arrive please be patient, because we may be stuck in the traffic too.
