It’s May and that can only mean one thing… Britain’s premier cycle race ‘The Tour de Yorkshire’ comes to town and Harrogate in particular.

Harrogate features prominently in the 2019 world cycling calendar, with not only the Tour run over three days in May, but also hosting the UCI world cycling championships in September.

Harrogate road closures at a glance on Friday 3 May 2019

The race will feature Harrogate on the Friday (Day2) as the race starts in Barnsley and finishes in Bedale. Whilst many of the road closures are ‘rolling closures’ which means the race closes before the race passes through and re-opens as soon as the race has passed, there will be parking restrictions in place and traffic is expected to be heavy. Will be closed from 10am – noon and 2.30pm to 5.30pm
