Rise Furniture and Mobility of Harrogate, has just been named National Retail Business of the Year, during a glittering gala awards evening at the Best New Business Awards in London’s West End. This is the first time a mobility retailer has ever been nominated and gone on to win the prestigious title.
Combining over 30 years industry experience, Rise is the brainchild of Harrogate businessman, Carl Drake and his wife Angel. The North Yorkshire couple, are shaking up an industry where tired looking, inferior products, questionable sales techniques and appalling customer service are the industry norm.
The husband and wife team, decided to open their first Mobility showroom after becoming frustrated by their own first hand experience of the UK mobility market, struggling to find quality mobility products and daily living aids for their own parents.

The busy Harrogate showroom was specifically chosen for its on-site customer parking and wheelchair friendly access.

Speaking after the presentation, owner Carl Drake said he was “absolutely over the moon with the award. Being shortlisted as one of the top four retailers in the country was an achievement in itself, so to win the category against much larger and more established businesses, is a dream come true”.
